Starting out with Econ 4160 Research

For Econ 4160 you will be able to work more efficiently and effectively if you take time to familiarize yourself with library's many Economics-related resources.

First of all, you are welcome to contact me anytime for assistance with finding trend data, scholarly articles or other forecasting research for your forecasting projects and assignments. My office is located on the 4th floor (east) of the Library. Please feel free to drop by, call or email!

This guide will help you identify resources for economic and business forecasting data, relevant reports and statistics to support your work. The "Data and Statistics" tab includes links to library resources (such as ViewsWire and ProQuest Statistical Insight), as well as federal government resources such as Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED).

It will also be useful to explore the Library's "Economics databases" to locate scholarly material to support your quantitative analysis. Some of the primary research databases include: EconLit and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) resource.

Ultimately, your goal for this course should include being able to improve the quality of your efforts by efficiently locating the best scholarly material and most accurate and complete data. We at Georgia Tech Library are committed to helping you achieve this goal.
