Inventing the Future 2012

A Seminar for Inventors, Entrepreneurs, Researchers, Students and Professionals

The Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) at the Georgia Tech Library, in collaboration with the Inventors Association of Georgia (IAG), is organizing a whole day seminar for inventors, entrepreneurs, researchers, students and professionals on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (program starts at 9 am). The seminar will cover topics such as: the America Invents Act Implementation - how the new law affects inventors; provisional application for patents best practices; helping inventors be more successful; and technology commercialization - licensing, and manufacturing tips as well as business development. An inventor spotlight event during the day will highlight a group of selected inventors with showcase of their invention models.

The day long seminar will be conducted by experts from the USPTO, Georgia Tech, Inventors Association of Georgia, patent agents and the Georgia Small Business Development Center. A panel session will allow participants to interact with experts concerning any invention and business development related issues. Whether you’re an inventor, entrepreneur, patent attorney/agent, student, professor or other interested individual, this workshop will provide useful information for your interests.

The Georgia Institute of Technology is an excellent venue for this seminar. As a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC), Georgia Tech Library provides free assistance and instruction in searching the USPTO website and other systems for patents and trademarks, and access to intellectual property information for inventors, students, faculty, researchers and other community members. The GT library provides supporting patent and trademark materials from the USPTO and commercial publishers.

Georgia Tech is conveniently located in mid-town Atlanta with easy access to interstates, highways, and public transportation. For further information or to register for the workshop, please click on the " Registration" tab on top.
