Who can check out iPads?
All current Georgia Tech students, staff, and faculty are eligible for iPad borrowing. Alumni borrowers and outside users are not eligible.
Where can I go to check out an iPad?
The iPads are available from the library services desk on the 1st floor, west side of the main library. All iPads are 16GB WiFi models, and each device comes with the same set of pre-loaded apps. Please bear in mind that during periods of high demand, a wait list may be implemented.
What are the loan periods?
iPads circulate for 48 hours.
Will I be subject to fines if the iPad is returned late?
Overdue fines for library iPads accrue at a rate of five dollars per day. Items not returned within 14 days will be listed as lost, and the borrower will be issued a bill for the full replacement cost of the device (599.00) and a processing fee (35.00). Borrowers also assume responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur while the device is charged to their library account.
Can I download my own apps to the iPad?
The iPads come preloaded with a set of productivity applications, but users may access their own iTunes or iCloud accounts. Please make sure you've logged out of all accounts when you return the device; devices are cleared of all data and restored to the default image upon return. We also welcome app recommendations and will try to accommodate requests when possible. Please direct any app requests to firstname.lastname@example.org
The user is responsible for returning the device on time and intact. The user should also clear any personal data before returning the device. The library is not responsible for any loss of data, and each device will be cleared upon return. By checking out these devices, users agree to abide by the campus computer and network usage policy.
