"Core Collection" of print books. The Core Collection contains books recommended by Georgia Tech faculty (up to 1000 print books per school). Since the books are in Call Number order, they can be browsed by subject.

Borrowing: Borrowing from the GT Library and Borrowing & Requesting from Other Libraries
ILLiad Interlibrary Loan System. Photocopies of articles and book loans from other libraries. Service is available to currently enrolled Georgia Tech students and faculty/staff.
Course Reserves. Professors can place books (textbooks, recommended readings etc.) and other materials on Course Reserves, to make them available to all students in their classes.
Click on the "Request" link to in the Library Catalog record to request that print books be retrieved (after "Sign-in"). Library Catalog records can contain holdings information for both electronic and print formats; see both "Get-It" and "View Online" links. "Detail" link will provide title change information (separate Library Catalog records for each title change). Journals may have separate records for print and electronic holdings.
Recall print books that are checked out -- click on "Request" link and fill out an interlibrary loan form, or ask the Public Service area (404-894-4530) to "Recall" the checked out book. All items can be subject to recall; the borrower is guaranteed 21 total days with items; recalled items which are needed for Course Reserves must be returned immediately.

About the Library Service Center. The Georgia Tech Library and Emory University Libraries have built and will operate a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled service facility known as the Library Service Center (LSC). Locates can be requested at the Public Services Desk for items that have been missing for an extended period of time, such as Core Collection books.
