Business & Management: Bloomberg

Research Guide for general Business and Management resources

Bloomberg Terminals on the Tech Campus

We are working on a solution to provide access remotely to this source; to be updated in late August.

There are several Bloomberg "terminals" on campus, within Colleges and Departments.  A terminal is inside the Library - however, fall 2020 - access will instead be remote. Remote access will be available campus-wide, for concurrent users (rather than for individual terminals).

    Who can use Bloomberg:

current Georgia Tech faculty, staff, and students

for academic purposes

You will need to set up a Bloomberg account. A validation code is required; you will need your cellphone with you (a text message with the code will be sent within 1 minute)

Bloomberg Guides

The guide listed below links to Bloomberg training materials, explains the color-coded keys, and has an excellent "getting started" keyboard navigation chart.

Bloomberg was founded in 1981 as Innovative Market Systems. In 1985, it became Bloomberg Business News.  Per the company's website, Bloomberg "delivers data, news, and analytics through innovative technology, quickly and accurately, to individuals and across enterprises".  It also "provides real-time and historical pricing, indicative data, reporting, research, estimates, analytics, portfolio management tools".  Current company name is Bloomberg L.P.  Source:  Journal of Business Strategy, Sept./Oct. 1995 (p.28); Hoover's Company Profiles.
